Glimmer Mist..............Love It Love It Love It

My project this week was to check out one of the latest trends in our world of scrapbooking, and it didnt take me long to decide what i wanted to talk about and use, Glimmer Mist of course. :-)

 
Glimmer Mist is quick, easy and fun to use.  It adds a fine mist of sparkle and shine to your projects. The hardest problem i had was knowing when to stop spraying, warning... it can become addictive.

Naturally, the easiest and quickest way to use is to spray your paper/card, coat your chipboard, spray your flowers - fabric and paper for a unique look and much more, but i thought that i wanted to go a step further and stamp with glimmer mist and make my own background pattern paper.

On my first layout i have stamped with the mist - we all have some of those foam stamps in our stash, well they work beautifully.  Just spray directly on stamp and off you go.

On my next layout i simply used chipboard and doilies to lay over paper to create a mist pattern background, and then sprayed another doilie with peppermint stick (pink)to embellish.

Fancy Pants Window Cards

Hey there...how's your Friday going?

Linda here, just popping in to share a few window cards using Fancy Pants Vintage Valentine's range, available now at Shop and Crop.

These vintage papers were easy to work with and I had lots of fun coming up with window ideas that would work well with these papers.

The first card (with all the buttons), is built on a blue Bazzill base (15cm x 10.5 cm folded) and covered with Vintage Valentine My Heart's Desire paper.  I found a clip art heart the right size for my card front and cut out the shape with my craft knife. Line the inside of the card with Will You? paper cut into a larger heart shape. Adhere a strip of Maya Rd Crochet Trim in True Red to the card front. Then it's just a matter of going through your button stash and finding enough buttons to edge the heart.

Card number two is constructed from a base of Vintage Valentine Pure Love paper.

 Cut a window in the card front, 4.5cm x 5cm and frame this with Pink Paislee Pixee Stix and a piece of Maya Road Crochet Trim. Accent the corners with tiny punched hearts and stick the image from Vintage Valentine Letters of Love inside the card, behind the window.

The 3rd card uses a heart punch or clip-art heart, whatever you can get your hands on.  

The base is a piece of Vintage Valentines Letters of Love (20 cm x 21 cm) folded and lined inside with the spotty side of the Will You? paper. I punched the 3 hearts from the card front and then covered these punched pieces with the Pink Paislee Pixee Stix glitter and stuck them on the inside of the windows. Trim the card with the Maya Road Crochet Trim as the final detail.

I hope these cards will spark your creativity in time for Valentine's Day ..... or convert the ideas into cards for other occasions just as easily.

...Product Spotlight - Kaiser La Di Da...

Hi Girls,

Jen here - today I am sharing two layouts I just did using the brand new Kaiser La Di Da range - I seriously LOVE this range - so great for scrapping girls (and you know I pretty much scrap only girls LOL) Really bright and colourful and super cute....

This one wasn't as hard it looks - the flowered section was cut from a border along the bottom of a pattern paper that I simply cut around. I backed the flowers, clouds etc with foam tape to give them dimension and as it was a cute layout, I went about crazy with the rhinestones and pearls :)

I have had this photo sitting in my pile for a few months now, just waiting for inspiration to strike - I wanted the layout to be bright but still really girly, the La Di Da range was perfect. I cut the bird and the flower from La Di Da Skip and backed them with foam tape, with a border punch and tiny bow button the layout turned out exactly how I wanted it to!

SEI Juliette

Hi everyone, Lisa here today to hopefully provide you with some inspiration to get us out of holiday mode and over the back to school action - and of course focus on the important stuff, getting back into scrapping.....lol.

I have had the past few weeks away and so enjoyed the break, esp from work, however i wasnt able to scrap since chrissy, so i have been having some major withdrawals - only being able to look at magazines is a killer !!!!  Last Sunday i caught up with my wonderful girlfriends for a day of scrapping and these two layouts were my first completed projects.

I would like to introduce my beautiful new neice Aisha Elizabeth, born in Nov, she is such a doll. xxx

The layouts were created using the SEI Juliette range (same as Lindas card kit this month) and they are such beautiful papers - foiled and glittered. 

 
I had these two photos of my neices and thought they would work perfect, for those of you who dont know me i have two sons, so i jump at the chance to do some girly pages - lucky for me, i have three beautiful neices to use as my subjects.

 I tried to do two completely different looking layouts - but i did fall in love with the butterfly punches and border punch (Martha Stewart) and couldnt resist.

From my own stash - As i said earlier, i used some Martha Stewart butterfly punches and border punch and a scallop circle punch, you may also have these or similar to use which will work just as well, i used  maroon coloured thread to highlight on the Lola page - i used this to accentuate the P/P, my title, underline journalling and a stitch over the body of some of the butterflies. Black/white gingham ribbon.

Product Focus - Basic Grey

Hi everyone...Jen here!

Today I want to share a little project I made over the weekend using the new Basic Grey line "Origins" and the limited edition mini stamps sets - I picked out four from the set of twelve mini sets - such great value with so many different uses and themes - check them out Here.

SO, my idea was to create a mini notecard set - I plan to use mine as a little surprise gift for someone special - a bundle of 12 little cards with different sentiments that can be filled in and added to gifts or just because.

I began with four pattern papers and a A4 piece of white card.

I cut all the notecard first - trimmed to 10cm w x 15cm h (4" x 6")and folded in half to create the crease along to top. - three from each sheet of pattern paper - go Here to find your papers.

I then began simply playing with the stamp sets (including a four hour hunt when I misplaced one little set - which ended up being attached to the bottom of a supply box LOL).

Using a clear arcylic block and versa colour ink I stamped my sentiments and elements onto the white card or offcuts of pattern paper. Then adhered them to the fronts of the mini cards.

I embellished the cards with Kaiser rhinestones and pearls (love the bling!) plus a few puched out scalloped circle (which is always fun).

Finally to store all the cards and present them to my friend, I trimmed a piece of pattern paper to 14.5 cm w x 24.5cm h (5.8" x 9.6") and folded it in half, next I trimmed two insert pieces to 14.5 cm w x 12cm h (5.8" x 4.8") and punched a decorative border along one edge of each piece - folded this over at one end to around 1" and adhered the outer three sides with thin double-sided tape to the inside of the folder.

I decorated the front with a sentiment and some flower stamps before punching  a hole through the bottom of both sides of the folder and tied the folder closed with ribbon.

I slipped six little notecards into each side of the folder - now my friend can simply open it and find a card to suit the occasion.

I plan to make these for my girls Teachers for Mother's day this year, and maybe a few for the Mother's day stall - they are great way to up scraps left over from projects or simply to play with new papers you've just added to your stash!!
